At noon, the maximum temperature was +21.4°C in Gurakhonka in Arad County and +21.1°C in Mangalia and Adamklis (Dobruja). In Konstanz and Tulcea it was +20.8°C, and in Oravitsa +20.7°C.
It was extremely hot in Transylvania, with a maximum of +19.8°C in Sibiu, +19.1°C in Brasov, +18.2°C in Boit, +15.6°C in Josen and +10.4°C in Balea Lac, ANM maps show.
In Bucharest it was +17.5 degrees.
The coldest was in Redeuka, a maximum of +1.8 degrees at noon.
Saturday’s high was two degrees off the country’s all-time record for December in Romania: +23.4C in Campina on December 5, 1985. Some of the records set that day 38 years ago have now “fallen”.
The morning of December 2nd was one of the warmest December mornings on record, with overnight highs reminiscent of summer: +17.6 C in Rešita and Oravice and +15.9 C in Gurahonka. It was +14.9°C in Timisoara and Huedin, +14.6°C in Shiria, and 13.9°C in Arad.
Even in Brasov, the minimum was +12.9°C, and in Campina +13.9°C. In Transylvania, in Tyrneven, the minimum was +11.1°C, and in Josen, the pole of cold, +7.4°C.
The coldest was in Pyatra-Neamts (-1.7°C) and Tirgu-Okna (-1.5°C). It was also cold at Beche (-1.4 C), a weather station that measures one of the country’s highest summer temperatures.
