Two Palestinians who were trying to get to Romania, hidden in a truck driven by a citizen of Ukraine and loaded with tomato paste, were discovered by the border police of Giurgiu. They wanted to get to Germany.
Representatives of the border police reported on Thursday that a truck driven by a 41-year-old citizen of Ukraine, which was transporting tomato paste from Turkey to Romania, arrived at the Giurgi checkpoint for entry into the country.
“At the border control, the police officers noticed that the fastening cable was unglued, so they began to open the semi-trailer, during which they found two men aged 19 and 40, respectively. As a result of the inspection, no documents proving their identity were found, as they declared that they are citizens of Palestine. They wanted to get to Germany and got into a truck on the territory of Turkey,” said the border guards quoted by News.ro.
The citizen of Palestine was taken away by representatives of the Bulgarian border police for further investigation. The truck driver was banned from entering Romania for five years.
