The European Commission on Wednesday appointed Romanian Dana Spinanz to the post of Director General of the Directorate General for Communications (DG COMM), News.ro reports. Member of the European Parliament Siegfried Muresan congratulated Dana Spinanz, stressing that “she is the first Romanian citizen to head the Directorate General of the Commission.”

According to him, the effective date will be determined later.

According to him, in the new position “she will use her comprehensive knowledge of various aspects of communication policy, focusing on providing strategic direction and coordination of large projects.”
