
Russia has placed Andy Stone, a spokesman for Meta Platforms, on its wanted list without specifying the charges against him, the state-run TASS news agency reported on Sunday, Reuters reported.
TASS reported that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened criminal proceedings against Stone, but the ministry has not released details of the investigation or the charges.
Meta’s main social platforms, Facebook and Instagram, were banned in Russia shortly after Moscow invaded Ukraine last February.
In March 2022, a Russian investigative commission said it had opened a criminal case against “illegal actions by Meta employees” and cited Stone, saying he had “lifted the ban on calls for violence against the Russian military on his platforms” and that, thereby inciting extremist activity
