
The start of a general strike at CFR SA called for Monday by the National Commercial Rail Carriage Federation has been postponed by two days, union officials said. The leaders of the mentioned federation signed an agreement on this with the administration of the National Railway Company CFR SA on Friday. According to the latest clause of the agreement signed by the unions with the management of CNCF CFR SA, the start of the strike is postponed until 14:00 on 29 November 2023.
What promises?
- Promotion at the Government meeting on November 28 (Tuesday) of the Memorandum on the exemption of CCNCF CFR SA from the application of the provisions of Law 296/2023 (the Austerity Law proposed by Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku), which limits the remuneration of the company’s employees.
- Presentation and assumption by CNCF CFR SA until November 28, 2023 of a salary scale that reflects the gap according to the complexity and volume of work, respectively, importance and competence in decision-making
- Presentation to the CNCF CFR SA by November 29, 2023 (Wednesday) of the Collective Labor Agreement for 2023-2024 with the aim of signing, registering with the authorized institution and, as a result, settling the collective labor conflict.

In relation to the actual strike action notified to the National Rail Company CFR SA on 27 November 2023, the National Commercial Carriage Federation, part of the National Trade Union Bloc, publicly states the following:
Taking into account the discussions held on November 23 and 24, 2023 with the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, respectively, with the leadership of the National Railway Company “CFR” – SA regarding:
- commitments taken by the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure regarding the presentation at the Government meeting on November 29, 2023 of the Memorandum on the exemption of the National Railway Company “CFR” – SA from the application of the provisions of Law no. 296/2023, which limits the wages of company employees;
- presentation and adoption by Compania Nationala de Cai Ferate “CFR” – SA until November 28, 2023 of a salary scale that reflects the gap according to the complexity and volume of work, according to importance and competence in the decision-making act.
