The son of Mohamed Raad, a prominent Hezbollah member of Lebanon’s parliament, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, a source close to the family told AFP.

The son of Raad, head of Hezbollah’s parliamentary group, “was killed along with other members of Hezbollah” in an Israeli attack on a house in the village of Beit Yagun, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Hezbollah did not comment on the issue.

The official Lebanese News Agency reported late Wednesday that “an Israeli enemy airstrike (…) on a house in Beit Yahun killed four people” and injured others, without naming the victims.

Since October 7, the date of mass killings by Hamas in Israel, which retaliated by attacking the Palestinian-led Gaza Strip, the border between Lebanon and the Jewish state has been the scene of numerous skirmishes, mainly between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia, which has raised fears regarding the expansion of the conflict.

According to AFP, in these clashes, the Lebanese side took the lives of more than a hundred people. Most of them were Hezbollah fighters, but there were also at least 14 civilians, including three journalists.

On the Israeli side, according to the authorities, six soldiers and three civilians were killed.
