“Police officers of the Kovasna Regional Police Department, together with the prosecutors of DIICOT – the territorial administration of Kovasna, documented the criminal activity of a man (a foreign citizen) who is being investigated for committing crimes of child pornography and attempted trafficking of minors,” they reported on Tuesday. , IGPR and DIICOT, in a press release cited by News.ro.

Judicial sources said the man is a British citizen.

“In the period 2022 – January 2023, the man allegedly tried to transfer a 14-year-old minor under his power and control for the purpose of sexual exploitation, offering sums of money to the victim’s family for this purpose. “, the investigators said.

According to them, after searches conducted in the Covasna district, several computer systems and data carriers were found and seized at the man’s residence, in which more than 280,000 images and videos of pornographic materials with minors were found.

“The conducted investigative actions also revealed the fact that the man was convicted of similar acts in his country of origin,” the investigators stated.

First, he was detained for 24 hours, then a preventive measure was chosen for 30 days.
