Nadella, who took over as CEO of Microsoft in 2014, also said that Greg Brockman, one of the co-founders of OpenAI and a former CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of the artificial intelligence company, will also join Microsoft.

Reuters notes that Nadella also confirmed that Microsoft supports the appointment of Emmett Scheer as CEO of OpenAI. Nadella said Microsoft is “excited to meet and work with Emmett Scheer and the new leadership team at OAI.

The move, announced by Microsoft, comes shortly after OpenAI’s board, which fired Altman as CEO last week, rejected his return to the company’s helm on Monday.
