After 45 days of war, a possible deal between Israel and Hamas for a temporary ceasefire and prisoner exchange appears to be taking shape. The Israeli military has released a series of footage showing underground tunnels under al-Shifa hospital, which it has attributed to Hamas, a claim the enclave’s health minister vehemently denies. The World Health Organization announced that 31 babies born prematurely at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City had been transferred to the south of the province and were due to leave for Egypt. Doctors say ‘all babies struggle with serious infections due to lack of medicine’
Israel-Hamas war – all information for the 45th day LIVE on HotNews.ro:
06:08The Israeli military said it detained 38 Palestinians during a raid in the West Bank. In a statement posted on its website, the Israeli military said its forces had also seized weapons and closed several laboratories where explosives were made.
06:00According to Al Jazeera, Gaza’s health minister rejected Israel’s claim that it had discovered a Hamas-controlled tunnel in al-Shifa hospital. Munir al-Boursh called the statement “an outright lie,” the report said.
The Israeli military said on Sunday that its troops “found a terrorist tunnel 55 meters long and 10 meters deep” under the hospital complex, which ran under the hospital and ended with a blast door.
The military also released video footage it said showed the first hard evidence of a complex Hamas tunnel network under a hospital in Gaza City.
05:30Palestinian doctors evacuated 31 premature babies from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City and took them to a hospital in southern Gaza for examination and treatment, the World Health Organization said. Doctors say “all the babies are fighting serious infections due to lack of medication,” the statement said. According to the general director of Gaza hospitals, Mohammed Zakout, preparations are underway to bring the babies to Egypt.
05:00 Israel and Hamas appear to be moving toward a deal that would involve the release of a significant number of hostages, possibly in exchange for a limited ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
22:27 The Israeli military released a video showing hostages being taken to Al-Shifa Hospital on October 7
“These findings prove that the terrorist organization Hamas used the Al-Shifa hospital complex as a terrorist infrastructure on the day of the massacre,” the army said in a statement.
One of the videos (supposedly from surveillance cameras at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza) shows a man being carried on a stretcher surrounded by several men, at least four of whom are armed. In another, a man appears to struggle as he is pushed into a hallway.
“We haven’t found the two hostages yet. We don’t know where he is,” army spokesman Daniel Hagari told a briefing.
