Former liberal transport minister Radu Bercanu said on Sunday night that he had no intention of returning to politics and claimed he did not know if he was still a member of the PNL.
“I have no intention of returning to politics, I have no intention of running for anything, political, anything like that. This issue is being clarified. I keep in touch with my colleagues, we still meet, we still talk, (…) I am not in direct contact,” Radu Bercanu said on Sunday evening in Prima News.
When asked if he was still a member of the NLP, Bercanu said that he was once asked to pay a membership fee, which he did not do.
“I don’t know, at some point I got something that if I don’t pay my membership fee until I know when or something like that, I won’t be a member anymore, I mean myself in Dolj. I believe that if we bought the premises and furniture there, which are now there, it would be enough. I don’t know how much I had to pay. I don’t know if I’m still a member or not. I am a person who has been in politics for a long time, even in the thick of it, at the top, and knows a little more, who has 6 grandchildren and who is interested in what is happening in this country. Not necessarily what’s happening in the PNL, in the PSD or I don’t know where, but what’s happening in general interests me,” said Bercanu. (News.ro)
