Specialists from the National Energy Service are having trouble maintaining balance in the system, in conditions where more and more consumers and renewable energy projects are starting to work, says Energy Minister Sebastián Bourduilla. He showed that the ideology of greening that has swept Europe should take energy security and price into account first of all.

“Regarding renewable energy, this is such an accelerated pace that it scares many people, including those in the National Health Service. I was there and specialists are concerned about the accelerated increase in the number of consumers, the share of renewable energy sources and intermittent production,” the minister said at a specialized conference organized by the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council.

He indicated that this phenomenon will continue, with another 2,000-2,500 MW of PNRR-funded capacity coming on line next year.

“I also explained in Brussels: you can’t give up coal, you can’t switch to nuclear energy, you can’t accept gas, but you can have safe energy. Romania must make its voice heard. We must make it clear that this greening ideology cannot ignore safety and price. So this is the order of priorities: energy must be safe, cheap and green, in that order. Green whenever possible and as much as possible,” Burduya added.
