A woman from Arad notified the police on Wednesday, saying that her car might have a bomb, after she received threats, so the intervention force secured the area, Agerpres reported.

The incident happened on Mărăşeşti street, in the central area of ​​Arad.

“The Arad police were alerted that a woman from Arad had been threatened and a third-party device had been installed on one of her cars. The territory is guarded, evacuations of building sites in the area are ongoing, and a security perimeter is being established. Traffic was blocked along the entire street,” the Arad District Police Inspectorate reported.

A team of pyrotechnicians was called to the scene, but emergency inspection teams and the gendarmerie are also involved.

In May 2021, Arade businessman Ioan Krishan died after the car he was in exploded shortly after leaving the scene. The investigators established that a bomb had been planted in the car, and a criminal case was opened under the article on deliberate murder.

The police have not yet found those who planted the explosive device on the businessman’s car. The then Minister of the Interior, Lucian Bode, assured that “Romania is a safe country.”
