Marius Vecherdea is the son of Klaus and Carmen Iohannis, the businessman has been a friend of the presidential family for more than 15 years, since the time when Iohannis was the mayor of Sibiu. At some point, Marius Vecherdea settled with his wife Zuzana in the United States, and the Johannis family vacationed at the Vecherdea family home in Florida.
Later, Marius Vecherdya returned to Sibiu, where he founded the Pamira sports club, through whose sections the Sibiu Open tennis tournament is organized.
