Russia accused Ukraine on Sunday of carrying out a series of attacks in the border regions of Bryansk and Belgorod, in which one person was injured and five train cars were damaged, AFP and Agerpres reported.

The Investigative Committee of Russia announced the opening of an investigation into the fact that Ukrainians attacked a village in the Bryansk region of Russia, located on the border with Ukraine. At the same time, he did not specify when exactly the attack took place.

The governor of the Belgorod region of Russia, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that on Saturday drones and rockets fired at several districts of his region, in most cases without casualties or material damage.

However, in the town of Valuyki, located approximately 25 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, “five wagons were damaged”, as well as three houses. Also, according to Gladkov, power lines were damaged.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces shot down two Ukrainian drones in the Belgorod region, thwarting attempts by “terrorists”.

Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory have become more frequent in recent months in the context of the Ukrainian army’s counteroffensive in early June to recapture territories controlled by Russian forces in the south and east of Ukraine.
