Two weeks after Israel launched a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces are “ready and active in any arena that threatens the State of Israel,” CNN quoted a military spokesman as saying.

“At this stage, troops are operating in central Gaza City, taking control of Hamas strongholds and fighting terrorists,” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said during a briefing on Friday. “This is a difficult and difficult war.”

“Last night we operated in Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria (No. Cisiorania), Gaza, and we also reached the Red Sea area. Our enemies are trying to distract us from our focus on Gaza, where our kidnappers are, where Hamas is, which we must eliminate. We are mission focused. We remain focused on Gaza,” he added.

Hundreds of thousands of Gazan civilians have moved to the enclave’s south, but Hamas is doing “everything in its power to prevent them from doing so,” Hagari said, reiterating that Hamas uses civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, as shields for its attacks on Israel. .

More than 100,000 Gazans have fled south in the past two days, Hagari said.

In the north of the country, Israeli forces are carrying out a “very large-scale attack” targeting Hezbollah infrastructure after three drones entered Israeli airspace, Hagari said. One was intercepted and the other two “went down,” he said.

Hagari also mentioned the IDF attack on a military base in Syria in response to a drone attack on a building in the southern Israeli city of Eilat.
