“Following the clarifications sent regarding the evacuation of the first group of Romanian citizens (93 people) from the Gaza Strip on November 7 this year, in the current context of security in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Affairs states that following the agreement sent by the Israeli and by the Egyptian authorities for another 51 Romanian citizens from the Gaza Strip and their family members, they will be able to transit through the Rafah border crossing point to enter the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Wednesday morning.

According to the institution, their evacuation to Egypt will take place on Wednesday, in accordance with all special procedures, given that they were informed in advance by representatives of the Romanian mission in Ramallah.

“In order to receive the evacuees, mobile consular teams from the rapid response team of the MAE crisis cell will provide the necessary support at the Rafah crossing point for the evacuation of Romanian citizens, respectively, specific consular assistance and offer them the necessary assistance to Cairo, from where they will be transported to Romania,” they said. also in the IAE.

At the same time, the Interagency Crisis Group, through the diplomatic missions in Cairo and Tel Aviv, continues the dialogue with the Egyptian and Israeli authorities in order to complete the evacuation operations of other Romanian citizens and their family members who have requested assistance and are still in the Gaza Strip.
