The mayor of Kimpulung-Mussel, Elena Lasconi, says that everything that happened in the last few days with her daughter Oana “knocked her down” and that the hardest part is being a “spectator of the lynching that she is a part of”, according to News.ro.

She declares that she will go to Paris to speak to her daughter, and tells her fellow party members that: “It doesn’t matter that everyone is trumpeting the interest we have, the polls and so on. if we work enthusiastically for our credo. It is fortunate that we are different, but we all have one Romania in our hearts.”

According to some political sources, Elena Lasconi said in a message sent to the USR communication group that the last few days have been “the most difficult and painful” of her life.

“I expected something less than the phases with Oana. It just knocked me off my feet. The most difficult thing is to be a spectator of the lynching that she is a part of these days, and who knows how much from now on and how much my whole family will suffer. To functions that come and go, my daughter is and will be my daughter as long as I live. I love her no matter what she says or does. Therefore, I am preparing to go to Paris to listen to her, talk to her, hold her in my arms. What is happening now is not a problem as long as there is love. I work these things out with her and know that everything will be fine. This week I will do only that,” she said.

Olena Lasconi apologized to “colleagues who felt disappointed” by her statements.

“I want to assure you that I am fully aware of all the work you have done over a long period of time for this party. It was not in vain and every contribution helped to strengthen the common creed, hope. I am sorry if there are colleagues who felt that my statements somehow sabotaged this effort. I know there are a lot of unanswered questions right now, some with glitz and bang, some with consistency. Their time will come. USR President Katalin Drula later announced that he had spoken to Elena Lasconi and asked her to withdraw from the campaign for the European Parliament following the scandal caused by her claims about voting in the family referendum.

She was criticized both by former colleagues who now work in REPER, and by her party colleague Clotilde Armand.

The harshest reaction, however, came from his daughter, who tearfully announced in an Instagram post that she was “shocked and absolutely disgusted”, saying: “This cruel discrimination has no place in my family and for that reason I will no longer support my mother from this moment on.”

The National Bureau of the Democratic People’s Republic of Ukraine took note of the withdrawal of Olena Lasconi from the list of candidates for the European Parliament elections on Sunday evening, the formation said in a statement. USR also said that Elena Lasconi will continue to work at Campalungeni and will have the support of USR to continue working in the administration.

The journalist also accused her daughter Oana of playing a role when she said in a video that she was “absolutely disgusted, disappointed and shocked” after learning her mother had voted YES in the referendum on the traditional family .
