Former Family Affairs Minister Gabriel Firea said on Monday evening, the day he resumed his functions in the PSD, that he would file a lawsuit against Romania TV, where she was often invited in the past, accusing it of a “media lynching” and that she is involved in a “new scandal” in the context of violations found in the affairs of people with disabilities in Ilfov County.

Gabriela Firea was politically rehabilitated within the party and on Monday resumed her post as president of PSD Bucharest and member of the party’s leadership forum as first vice president.

The former mayor of the capital accused on Monday evening that a Romanian TV channel was manipulating public opinion, involving his name in a “new scandal”, after Labor Minister Simona Bucura-Oprescu ordered a review of the way of providing disability certificates to the level of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and protection of children of Ilfov.

The “news” presented by Romanian TV, combining my name and my husband’s name with the extremely serious topic of fake social files from Ilfov County, shows a gross lack of professional ethics, basic job information or manipulation of proportions. And it is not by chance that such a fiction appears on the day when my colleagues in the National Political Council of the PSD decided by a unanimous vote to return me to the political positions of the first vice-president of the PSD and the president of the PSD Bucharest. Firea wrote on Facebook.

The former minister of family affairs confirmed that she, her husband Florentin Pandele, Mayor Voluntari and her sister had no connection to the falsified files, recalling that they wanted to remove her from politics, as was the case with the asylums of horrors . .

“This new scandal regarding our alleged involvement in the fake files situation in Ilfov continues a series of alcohol abuse, personal attacks, media lynching and manipulation in recent months. The only goal is to publicly embarrass me and deepen the negative perception that they tried to create over the summer due to the asylum scandal. All this for one simple reason: there is no court decision incriminating me in the asylum case, and because the truth is gradually coming out. I believe that the information and public statements of the lawyers who have access to the file are relevant,” added the head of the PSD Bucharest.

Firea says she has been under pressure for four months and that she will sue Romanian television, where she and her husband Florentin Pandele have been frequent guests in the past.

“These attacks should stop at least out of respect for the audience. I used the tools available to any publicly aggrieved citizen. I complained about all the slanders to the National Broadcasting Council. Some notices have been resolved with a fine, others continue to work. However, the limit was exceeded after four months of daily pressure. My family should feel protected, so we will seek justice,” said Gabriela Firea.

Pandele: “Do you know how much I have to pay on Romanian TV? Ask Sebi Geet how much I have to pay”

In July, the mayor of Voluntari, Florentin Pandele, had a nervous breakdown during an interview he gave from his office to a Romanian TV channel.

Gabriela Firea’s husband accused the PSD of not defending the former minister of families in the scandal of horror shelters, and even that the Social Democrats sought to end the political career of someone who also held the seat of the city’s mayor. Bucharest.

Pandele then went live on Romanian television for more than four hours and said he “must be paid” to appear on the TV channel founded by the fugitive Sebastian Gietz.

After Victor Chutaku brought it to his attention, Pandele returned and claimed he was “joking”. Pandele was a constant presence on Romanian television throughout the horror asylum scandal.

Violations in hundreds of files for receiving disability certificates in Ilfov County

On Monday, Minister of Labor Simona Bucura-Oprescu ordered to check the method of providing disability certificates at the level of the Main Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection in Ilfov, News.ro reports.

Thus, according to the results of control activities carried out in the period from August 10 to October 3, 1,776 cases were checked, of which, in 1,414 cases, the control group found violations of the criteria for assigning degrees of disability and the comprehensive procedure of disability assessment.

It was also established that some files contain documents that contain inaccuracies: the doctors indicated in the documents are not on the records of the relevant medical units, and the submitted documents are not registered in the medical unit’s accounting system.

Therefore, all materials related to the assignment of disability will be reassessed, which will also be reported to the criminal proceedings authorities.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday that Romania has reached more than 800,000 people with disabilities and ranks first in Europe in terms of this figure, Agerpres notes.

He was asked whether the problem of the disabled was discussed at the coalition meeting and whether checks on the disabled are currently being carried out.

“It was a post-report check and a lot of files were found. We have only one problem, we have reached more than 800,000 disabled people. We are on the first place in Europe. I don’t believe that. It is absolutely wrong, just like those who are on medical leave, it is absolutely wrong for sick citizens to put up with all these discussions in a public space, and also for people who are less fortunate than us, with disabilities, to put up with these things in a public space.” , – said Cholaku at the PSD headquarters, referring to the control carried out by the Ministry of Labor.

PSD rehabilitated Gabriela Firea

PSD leaders noted on Monday at the meeting of the National Political Council that Gabriela Firea’s self-exclusion from all posts in the party has expired. In other words, Firea has been politically rehabilitated within the party and returns to the post of president of PSD Bucharest and member of the party’s leadership forum as first vice president.

Sources inside the PSD told HotNews.ro that the leaders of the Social Democrats only noted that her self-exclusion from leadership positions in the party expired in October.

In fact, PSD president Marcel Choalcu recently said that Gabriela Firea could run for mayor of the capital, noting that the party has not yet decided on another candidate and that the discussion is premature.

“You can Ms. Fiera (candidate for the capital city hall – no). At the moment, there is no other decision in the party to be another candidate. Filming is done, measurements are taken. Let’s be honest: Gabriela Firea had nothing to do with the Asylum of Horrors. So, it had nothing to do with the horror shelters,” Çolaku said, according to Agerpres.

Firea resigned in the wake of the “housing of horrors” scandal.

It will be recalled that in July Gabriela Firea suspended herself from all positions in the party and resigned from the position of Minister of the Family after the scandal with the “horror asylums”.

After public pressure over an employee’s involvement in the Voluntari shelter scandal, Fiera announced her resignation in a lengthy message posted on Facebook in which she said she was “completely innocent” while continuing to claim she was a victim and that there was a “total war , to destroy” him “and less to find out the truth”: “There was only one interest: to pour as much dirt on me as possible, as much misinformation as possible, to put pressure on me from the media and my husband, let us be put on a pillar of shame with one goal.”

Her resignation comes ten days after investigators raided asylums of horrors in Voluntara and Afumac, and after numerous revelations about Gabriela Firea’s ties to Stefan Godey, the patron of two homes for the elderly.
