
Fenerbahce Istanbul lost their first official match of the season, 2-3 at home to Trabzonspor, after a remarkable run of 19 wins in the championship and the Conference League.
Fenerbahce’s first defeat in 20 games
The Turkish vice-champions had their winning streak snapped this season against Trabzonspor at home on Saturday.
The visitors opened the score with Onuach in the 10th minute, and at the beginning of the second half they scored twice more within a minute – by Ozdemir (46) and Pepe (47).
Fener got back into the game after Dusan Tadic converted an 11-yard strike in the 61st minute, but fell behind in the 78th minute after Yuksek was sent off.
Another penalty, converted by Tadic in the 90th minute, brought them closer to a draw, the Ismail Kartal side failed to pull off a miracle in overtime.
Until this stage, Fenerbahce had won ten in a row in the Turkish Super League and nine in the Conference League.
The leader of the championship is Galatasaray, also with an excellent streak, 10 wins and a draw in 11 stages.
