
The University of Bucharest (UB) has established a procedure whereby students can get a 90% discount on the use of shared public transport provided by the Bucharest Transport Society (STB). Required documents: student card indicating that they are on IF (full-time education), monthly travel, tax receipt with STB stamp on the back, student account statement and GDPR agreement.
All these documents must be submitted to the secretariat of the faculty where the student studies, and the calculation is carried out as follows:
- According to the documents submitted from the 1st to the 14th of the month, the calculation is made until the end of the current month;
- For documents submitted from the 15th to the 30th/31st of the month, the calculation will be made the following month.
The order also stipulates that “a person responsible for student subscription calculations will be designated at each faculty.”
All full-time students under the age of 30 use the discount.
Students with one or both parents who have died, as well as those arriving from accommodation centers, receive a 100% discount on public transport.
Students also have free rail transport, in accordance with the Higher Education Act 199/2023, which entered into force on September 3 this year.
