Surreal scenes in Alba Iulia where USR mayor Gabriel Pleša, former Cluj mayor Gheorghe Funar and AUR Deva president Tiberiu Barstan sat at a table with the tricolor as a curtain to “judge the crime” of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, reports Alba24.

Daniela Petronela Anca and Leticia Aman, members of AUR Karash-Severin, also arrived alongside the three. Everything happened in Alba Iulia, on Thursday, at the “trial” opened against the Austro-Hungarian Empire, for the crimes committed against the revolutionaries from Apuseni, Khoreya, Kloška and Krishan.

The process, symbolic, but with “great historical consequences”, as those present insisted, was opened by the writer, journalist and literary historian Laurean Stancescu of the same name.

Plesha, Funar, Barstan, Anka and Letizia were called to the table as jurors. But for the process to “go down in history”, witnesses were present on the esplanade of the obelisk in Alba Iulia. With their phones open, witnesses recorded the “historic moment” in live broadcasts. The witnesses themselves were mostly AURians and a few people who absorbed every word thrown out of the hollow microphone.

At the end, AUR Deva President Tiberiu Barstan explained why the empire was “doomed”, but not clearly enough. Then the “historical prosecutor” Stancescu intervened: “He is convicted for all the atrocities committed here. Today’s condemnation can only be welcomed, it is not only a symbolic condemnation, but also a political and historical condemnation,” Stancescu hurries to explain the verdict.

After the “sentence”, the former mayor of Cluj Funar put his hand on the microphone. He said that monuments to the country’s historical figures who committed crimes against Romanians should be banned. But the speech quickly went off track.

“Emperor Trajan personally witnessed the erasure from the surface of the earth of the first capital of the planet Sarmisegetussa, which was located near Hateg, on an area of 400 hectares. Underneath this capital, which contained at least 100,000 fighters, the first underground city on planet Earth was built and located. From the underground city, the tunnels go beyond the borders of the country and the world,” Funar said, reports Alba24.
