The Koketka Theater Association aimed to stimulate a conscious awareness of national and local identity among children and youth and to promote access to culture in hard-to-reach areas, including culturally challenged and socially disadvantaged publics, through special means. theater and animation.

Starting with the urban legend of the love between the beautiful Dambovitsa and the shepherd Bucur, the team of the project called “Silver Tear” created a unique puppet show and an animated film – the premiere in Romania – only with puppets and special effects – with which children and young people were opened important parts of national and local cultural heritage. The originality of this project should be emphasized. It all started with the creation of dolls, the main characters of the theater and the legendary film: the beautiful girl Dambovitsa, the brave Bukur and his enchanted sheep, the evil prince who is hopelessly in love with a beautiful woman, and two evil Tatars and not much else. They were digitally “sculpted” by Lucian Ţigănuş and printed on a 3D printer, after which they were “put on strings” in Arad by puppeteer Carmen Marginian; then design and creation of costumes and scenery, author Valeria Cristia. What followed were weeks of rehearsals and filming to master the magical relationship between puppeteers and puppeteers, as well as production and post-production on the film, which was recently completed. With the support of partners, local schools and administrations, 3 free shows were held under the direction of Ingrid Bonza in Bucharest, Sibiu and the commune of Čokanest-Dambovica, attended by more than 400 students, teachers, parents and representatives of the education system. The puppeteers were Valeria Kristia-Dambovica, Ionuc Tertecsi-Prinzul, Andriy Jordake-Bukur si Un Tetar and Ingrid Bonza-Alt Tetar. Other secondary characters were taken over by each of the actors. The story told on stage was followed by filming in a professional studio with actors – famous puppets. The director of the film is Lucian Tsyganush, the image is by Daniel Ani, and the music is by the famous composer Dan Parvo (Emmy Award 2010). In the period 08.02.2023-17.11. 2023 “Coketka” theater association successfully implemented the cultural project “Unknown City Roots”. The miracle of Dymbovitsa. The partners of the project were the Romanian-German Cultural Society, Sibiu, the ARTextract Association, Bucharest, the National Romani-Roma Cultural Center Here and the Department of Social Assistance of the City Hall of Popești Leordeni. The project was co-funded by AFCN and will be completed in the coming weeks.
