Atalay Arslan, general manager of Güral Premier Hotels in Antalya, told News.ro that in 2024, prices in Turkey’s popular tourist region will increase by 5-10% compared to this year.
“Next year, prices will increase by 5-10% compared to this year. The price of the tickets will depend on the time of year. All costs have increased, personnel costs have increased not only in Turkey, but also in Europe. It’s not easy from year to year, and we have to raise prices, but we try to do it all the time, not only during the holidays,” said Arslan.
Asked if he feared he would lose tourists by making the offer more expensive, he said there was indeed a danger that some tourists would be diverted if prices rose too much.
“Of course, if the prices are raised significantly, tourists may turn their attention to other destinations. Everyone knows that we have very good services here in Turkey, and we are afraid of problems, so we will try not to increase the prices of services too much,” he added.
According to his estimates, this year the two Güral Premier hotels, in Belek and Tekirov, received a total of about 50,000 tourists, of which 2,600 were from Romania.
Earthquakes in Turkey affected the plans of hoteliers in Antalya
“This year we received 2,600 tourists from Romania alone, very good figures for this year, because we also had difficult moments. The season didn’t start very well because of the earthquake (February 6, no), a disaster that affected us a lot,” said Atalay Arslan.
According to him, the number of Romanian tourists increased by 30% compared to 2022.
“This year we received 2,600 tourists from Romania alone, very good figures for this year, because we also had difficult moments. The season didn’t start very well because of the earthquake (February 6, no), a disaster that affected us a lot,” he explained.
Arslan also said that although this year started off badly for hotel owners in Antalya, after August things “went very well”.
