Incumbent MEP and former Prime Minister of Romania Mihai Tudose may become the head of the campaign of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in next year’s elections. On the broadcast of Prima News, he said that he will take this position if the need arises, writes News.ro.
The proposal for the appointment of a person who will be the head of the PSD campaign belongs to the president of the party, Marcel Čolak.
“I am not appointed officially, this is Mr. Cholak’s proposal. I agree, I guess it is. This should also be confirmed by the party, we will see if there are other ideas,” said Mihai Tudose.
When asked if this was a formality, Tudose clarified that it was, and if so, the formality should be completed. As campaign manager, Tudose said he had to develop a campaign strategy and follow it.
When asked if he would have the final say in the nomination of candidates, Tudose declared: “No, Great God, Holy One! The whole party makes a list.”
Tudose said that he is not the owner of the “absolute truth”.
“Here you don’t do what you want, but what the team decides. I’m not the owner of the absolute truth, I don’t think I have the best ideas, and I don’t even know them all the best,” Mihai Tudose added, according to the previously cited source.
