
An IPJ Bihor police officer was arrested by the prosecutor’s office along with another man for abuse of influence, blackmail, incitement to abuse of influence and aggravated theft. According to the General Anti-Corruption Directorate, prosecutors at the Bihor District Court on Wednesday ordered the opening of criminal proceedings against a 38-year-old man, the chief police officer of IPJ Bihor, for two counts of influence peddling, three counts of blackmail, two counts of abetting influence peddling and abetting aggravated theft. , reports News.ro.
A criminal case was also initiated against another person without a special status, aged 40, who lives in the city of Oradea, for forging documents with a personal signature, blackmail and qualified theft.
“It was stated that on 24.10.2023, a police officer demanded and received from a witness a key to the garage of a building in the municipality of Oradea, where a friend of the witness lives, in order to enter and steal money from a safe, after which he caused the other accused to enter the house and steal the available cash/property . The two accused were caught red-handed, at night, after stealing the sum of 6,000 lei and some jewelry from the respective residence,” DGA reports.
Two were detained for 24 hours, a proposal to choose a preventive measure will be made.
In carrying out the case, he used the support of the Romanian police.
