For the first time since the bloody attack by Hamas on October 7, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he takes responsibility for the failure of the army and government in this case.

“Everyone, including me, will have to answer (for the attack), but it will be only after the war,” he said.

During the bloody attack by Hamas on October 7, 1,400 Israelis were killed.

On October 17, the Chief of Army Intelligence, Major General Aharon Haliva, claimed responsibility for the Israeli intelligence failure that led Hamas to launch an attack on Israel.

“The military intelligence office under my leadership did not warn about the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas. We have failed our most important mission, and as the head of the Military Intelligence Directorate, I bear full responsibility for the failure,” Haliva wrote in a letter published by Israeli media and confirmed by Reuters.
