ANPC commissioners conducted a large-scale inspection at the Dragonul Roşu commercial complex, where they issued almost 400 fines amounting to more than 2.1 million lei. 16 stands with non-food products were sealed.

“Ilfov County Consumer Protection Commissionerate (CJPC) conducted a wide-ranging control action against 263 business entities operating in the Dragonul Roşu commercial complex, Ilfov County, to check compliance with legal provisions in this area, as part of food commercialization activities and non-food products,” the Bucharest-Ilfov regional commissioner for consumer protection said on Tuesday, quoted by News,ro.

According to the source, non-food items were confiscated from 15 economic entities.

After the detected violations, the commissioners applied 381 fines for offenses amounting to about 2.1 million lei, as well as 5 warnings. It was also ordered to seal 16 places/stalls where non-food items were sold.

According to representatives of the ANPC, the main deviations detected by the control groups were:

  • display in hard-to-reach form of prices for some goods sold
  • the sale of leather goods without a label containing information on the name and address of the importer, the type of material from which they are made and the method of service.
  • sale of food products without labeling with elements of identification and characteristics
  • sale of textile products without information in Romanian regarding fiber composition
  • lack of operating permit
  • marketing of cosmetic products with special precautions for use, without information about the function of the cosmetic product translated into Romanian.
