Just a few days ago, the mayor of sector 3, Robert Negojce, and the prefect of the capital, Rares Gopinca, announced that they will attack in court the legality of the provisions of the former general mayor Adrian Videanu to return to the public view the 12 hectares of the IOR park. The lawsuit was already filed in the Bucharest court on October 9, the defendants were the municipality of Bucharest and the beneficiary of the land, a mysterious 88-year-old woman, Maria Kokoru.

However, pensioner Maria Kokoru is already well-known in the capital’s real estate sector, because she purchased hundreds of hectares of land after their legal heirs, descendants of some noble families, transferred the disputed rights to her. About Maria Kokora, Robert Negoitse recently said that “behind the woman in her 80s and 90s are faceless owners,” referring to real estate sharks and even some officials whom the mayor accuses of facilitating or even influencing the retrocession process.
