According to him:

  • “The anti-fraud inspectors imposed sanctions on an economic operator engaged in the trade of fruits and vegetables with a fine in the total amount of 2 million lei for repeatedly exceeding the commercial revenue quota provided for by the regulation. It is about an economic operator that is a supplier for large chain stores and most hypermarkets.”
  • “Another distributor from Bucharest was fined 2 million lei for not meeting the quota of a maximum of 5% compared to the purchase price of some food products such as dry beans, oil, etc.”

“I would like to remind you that the ultimate goal of the measure is to reduce food prices by limiting the markup of commercial surcharges at the processor level by 20%, at the distributor level by 5% and at the final seller level by 20%.” , says Bolosh.

  • “The decision was made so that Romanian families do not have to pay 80% more for such basic products as bread or milk. Our goal is for people to find fair prices in stores. The effects are noticeable: products have become cheaper by 50%.”

However, I want to emphasize that these price cuts work in the short term. In the long run, domestic production must be increased to really bring prices down. We continue to find solutions and invest in the food industry so that we can process what we produce,” he says.
