In the Dnipropetrovsk city of Nikopol, rescuers continue to search for survivors under the rubble, regional governor Serhiy Lysak told Sky News.

“It has been established that the injured were employees,” Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko said on Telegram along with images of rescuers climbing through the rubble of the school.

The governor said that more than 40 houses and infrastructure were damaged as a result of the attack, and two men aged 24 and 71 were injured.

Russia did not comment on the incident.

He denies that he deliberately targeted civilians, although many have been killed in frequent Russian airstrikes in Ukraine since the invasion.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights recently published a report stating that over the past six months, Russia has killed an average of six civilians per day in Ukraine.
