
The Romanian women’s national handball team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 49-18 (26-11) on Wednesday in the first match of the Euro 2024 preliminary tournament.

Romania authoritatively controlled the game at the Sala Polivalentă in Mioveni and broke the record for goals scored in an official match.
The main scorers of the three-color team were Laszlo with seven goals, Nyagu, Pintya, Seraficana and Bazaliu with 5 goals each.
Our girls are in qualifying group 1 along with Croatia, Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The two best teams from the group will advance to the final European tournament.
There is also another qualification opportunity: the top four third-placed teams will also qualify for Euro 2024.

- It will take place from November 28 to December 15, 2024.
- The hosts of the final European tournament are Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
- The host cities will be Basel (St. Jakobshalle – 12,400 seats), Innsbruck (Olympiahalle – 8,000 seats), Vienna (Wiener Stadthalle – 12,000 seats) and Debrecen (Fonix Hall – 6,500 seats).
- A total of 24 national teams will take part.
4 national teams have already qualified: Norway (champion of 2022), Austria, Hungary and Switzerland from the host position.
