The Romanian car market in 2023 is growing steadily, even in the electric car segment, but it is not without problems. Romanians remain loyal to the same car brands, but the momentum of electric cars has become noticeable.

On the other hand, local car production seems to be limping along and not of much importance in the EU, being ignored, with a few exceptions, by the major car manufacturers, as well as battery manufacturers for electric cars, which are becoming very important players in the market. the automotive landscape of Europe, where the goal of exclusive sales of zero-emission cars is 2035.

“This year, the automotive market in Romania developed well, the most important trends are the increase in the level of electrification and the decrease in sales of used cars. On the other hand, on the production side, although there was a slight recovery in some months, the forecasts for the whole year are not too optimistic,” Daniel Angel, a partner at PwC, told Panorama.
