
Around 20,000 people took part in a pilgrimage called Calea Sfinţilor on Sunday evening in Iași, where the reliquary with the relics of Saint Paraskeva was carried by priests through the streets of the city center, News.ro reported.
The reliquary with holy relics was taken from the canopy installed in the courtyard of the Metropolitan Cathedral in Iasi, and was carried on the shoulders of priests along the route of St. Cathedral.
Dozens of priests took part in the event, including the Metropolitan of Moldova and Bukovina, IPS Theophanes. Representatives of the local and district administration were also present. According to the gendarmes, about 20,000 people took part in the march.
Around 20:00, the holy relics were returned to the courtyard of the Iasi Cathedral.
The “Way of the Saints” pilgrimage annually gathers pilgrims and believers from all over the country, as well as priests from the Metropolitanate of Moldova and Bukovina, as well as guests from other dioceses of the country and abroad.

According to the gendarmes, by Sunday evening, more than 40,000 believers worshiped the relics of the pious Paraskeva, and several thousand more people are waiting in line.
The reliquary with holy relics will be in the courtyard of the cathedral in Iasi until Sunday, October 15.
Along with the holy relics of the Patroness of Moldova, this year the holy relics of Saint Andrew of Crete from the Metropolitan Cathedral of Arkalochori (Crete) are brought for worship.
According to the authorities, approximately 350,000 people will take part in the religious pilgrimage from Yass.
On October 14, the Holy Liturgy will be held, the service will take place on the stage located on the pedestrian street Stefan cel Mare, in front of the cathedral in Iasi.
