A new volley of rockets fired from Gaza by Hamas militants directly hit several areas of Israel, including Tel Aviv, on Saturday night, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service (Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross).

“Following red alert sirens that sounded in the last few minutes, Magen David Adom teams began searching areas where rocket strikes were reported,” the organization said this evening. Tel Aviv, Rishon Lezion and Bat Yam were named the most affected areas.

But most of the emergency calls were concentrated in the Bat Yam area, Magen David Adom said.

Rescue teams “are also searching other areas where people are reported to have been affected, including Yavneh, Givatayim, Bat Yam, Beit Dagan, Tel Aviv and Rishon Lezion,” according to the quoted source.

Earlier, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced that it had fired another 150 rockets at Tel Aviv on Saturday night. In a Telegram post, the group said the attack was “in response to the bombing of the Palestine Tower,” an 11-story building in central Gaza City.
