It was over 38 degrees in Spain, over 30 degrees in Austria, and 29 degrees in Poland. More than ten European countries had their warmest October days, and there were mountain weather stations in the south where overnight minimum temperatures were above 20 degrees.

At more than 2,000 European weather stations, the absolute temperature record for October was exceeded, according to climatologist Maximiliano Herrera, who observes extreme climatic conditions from around the world.

In Spain, it was +38.2 C in Montoro and 37 C in Córdoba, and mountain stations above 1,300 m above sea level had overnight lows of over 20 C (tropical nights). On Tuesday, Roda de Andalucia had a maximum of +36.9 degrees.

In France, a new October record of +35.8 C was set in Navarre. In Austria, the maximum temperature exceeded 30 degrees, and in Prague in the Czech Republic – +27.8 degrees.

It was +29.3°C in Legnica in Poland, and +29.6°C in Sisak, Croatia. In Notzingen (Germany), the temperature reached +29.8°C, and in Switzerland there were many absolute records, including +22.2°C. in Zermatt, at an altitude of 1600 m above sea level. It was 29 degrees Celsius in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

Romania was not affected by this heat. The highest temperature was on October 1: +31°C in Bucharest and +30°C in Videl. These are high temperatures for October, but far from record for the month: 37-39 degrees.
