The Prahova police, who are investigating several people involved in the street scandals in Ploiešta, detained 11 suspects, members of rival families who repeatedly fought in the streets of Ploiešta, using sticks, swords, axes, machetes, as well as firearms, News.ro reports. On Wednesday, the prosecutor will decide whether to request preventive arrest on their behalf.

According to data provided by the Prahova District Police, the police arrested 11 men aged between 17 and 44 involved in street brawls in the Ploiesti municipality. Suspects are being investigated for violations of public peace and order, non-compliance with the regime of storage of weapons and ammunition, illegal use and destruction of weapons. They will be sent to the prosecutor’s office to choose other precautionary measures.

11 members of the underworld, who are part of two feuding families, were arrested on Tuesday and taken to court following 16 searches in Ploiesti and the communes of Peulesti and Tirgsoru Veki.

The men are suspected of having seriously disturbed public order and peace on the night of September 20-21, around 02:00, after a fight in the street, in an area in the western district of Ploiesti. Specifically, around 2:00 a.m., members of two families fought in the park, using clubs, swords, axes, machetes, and firearms to intimidate each other. During the scandal, the body of the car was gutted.

A few days later, on September 25, around 06:00, members of the same families met in the central district of Ploiesti, where they destroyed the body of another car with the help of blunt objects.

On Tuesday, 16 people suspected of participating in last month’s scandals were taken to the police headquarters for questioning.

After 16 searches on Tuesday, several mobile phones, four non-lethal pistols subject to a permit and an air pistol, several knives, machetes, swords, axes and other items used in criminal activities were seized.
