“Almost two years ago, the WHO recommended the widespread use of the world’s first malaria vaccine, called RTS,S,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a briefing in Geneva, according to Agerpres.

“Today I am very pleased to announce that WHO is recommending a second vaccine, called R21/Matrix-M, for the prevention of malaria in children at risk of the disease,” said the WHO Director.
