“We demand that the police act in accordance with the law. We demand to strengthen the punishment for drivers in a state of alcohol or drunkenness. We propose to make changes to the Criminal Code, to seriously revise the number of years of imprisonment. Regarding illegal drug trafficking, we ask the customs authorities to work more efficiently, because if drugs were not imported into the territory of our country in large quantities, they would not spread so easily. Dealers who manage to transport drugs worth many millions of euros must be caught, because by arresting only small dealers in the neighborhood, it is impossible to stop the trade in illegal substances,” said one of the young people present at the protest.

Vlad Pascu, the author of the tragic accident on May 2, which resulted in the death of two people, is being held criminally liable for possession of dangerous drugs for personal use, trafficking in dangerous drugs and use of housing for the use of illegal drugs, in the city card office, which has undergone thousands of searches in the capital .

His mother was previously arrested for 30 days on charges of influencing testimony.

The prosecutor’s office also proposed preventive arrest for 30 days to three more persons involved in the sale of drugs, the preventive measure was approved by the court.

Miruna Pascu, the mother of Vlad, the author of the May 2 accident in August, as a result of which two young people died, remains in preventive detention, the Bucharest Court of Appeal decided. The decision of the magistrates is final.

On September 22, Justice Minister Alina Gorgiou spoke about the May 2 law, a legislative project that follows Anastasia’s law, which proposes that “traffickers of high-risk drugs, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, will no longer be able to receive a deferred sentence.” “I am referring to three types of crimes of increased danger: illegal trafficking of drugs of increased danger, which is punishable by 5 to 15 years of imprisonment, international trafficking of drugs of increased danger, which provides for a prison term of 10 to 20 years, cultivation, offering , sale, transportation, possession of high-risk drugs, from 5 to 15 years,” Gorgiou said.

Also on September 2, PSD Senator Robert Kazanchuk stated that “there will be no more leniency for people who drive drunk, under the influence of drugs or without a license, as well as for those who use or sell drugs.”

The Social Democrat presented a package of measures proposed by the PSD, which include equipping the police with mobile scanners to check cars, or equipping the Romanian post office with the necessary equipment to scan all parcels entering Romania for drug-free visas. , as well as clear procedures for all international courier companies.

The PSD senator also talked about the possibility for parents to conduct 2-3 annual tests to detect possible drug use by minors, and in case of positive results, to conduct 10 psychological consultations.
