A woman from Timișoara died after her husband doused her with petrol and then set her on fire after an argument. The man initially did not admit to his crime, but after his wife’s death, he told the police how the incident happened. He was remanded in custody, News.ro reports.

They separated a long time ago, but recently reconciled and lived in Timisoara, in the Ronat district. Five days ago, a conflict arose between them, the man doused the woman with gasoline, lit her with a lighter and set her on fire. The woman was urgently taken to the hospital with her injuries.

Her aggressor was the one who called 112 when he realized what he had done.

As a result of the burns, the woman died in the hospital.

In the eyes of the police, the man initially claimed that they were making barbecue in the yard of the house, and the woman accidentally burned herself in the fire.

After her death, the man confessed to everything he had done. He was remanded in custody for 30 days and charged with murder.
