​Nearly 190 city halls in the country pay their elected officials much more than they manage to collect through taxes, data collected by the MDLPA shows. There are cases when the amounts paid to local elected officials are three to two times higher than the amounts that the mayors manage to collect from the local budget.

In the case of Vaslui-Vojneštų City Hall, last year’s own revenues amounted to 1.3 million lei, and personnel expenses – 3.1 million. Not to mention that the total expenses of UAT last year were almost 30 million lei.

About 3,200 residents live in the city (according to the 2021 census).

The mayor is a member of the PSD, the party that controls 8 of the 13 seats in the local council. PNL has 4 other mandates and Pto Romania one mandate.

The City Hall’s website is semi-functional, the last time property declarations were submitted for 2014-2015.

In Vado Motilor (Alba), the mayor is liberal, and the PNL also dominates the local council. A little more than 1,000 people live in the city.

Own income from 2022 is slightly more than 1.3 million lei. Salary expenses, almost 3 million. The total costs are about 6 million lei.
