A person is missing after two boats collided on Saturday in the Danube Delta, in the area of ​​Mila 23, and firefighters and police have intervened in the search for him, new.ro reports.

“Today, around 12:10, number 112 received a call from a citizen who reported that two boats collided on the Olguts Canal, in a radius of 23 miles, as a result of which a person fell into the water and could not be found. The person who fell into the water is a man of approximately 30 years of age,” IPJ Tulcea reports.

The police are continuing their investigation together with ISU Tulcea to establish the identity of the missing person.

According to ISU Tulcea, according to the first information, it seems that there was a marine accident at the intersection of Šontia and Ogutsa channels.

“Searches for persons in such cases are carried out under the coordination of the police. The SMURD helicopter is also in the area to search for the person,” ISU Tulcea also reported.

The SOS Water Rescue Association initially reported that a boat carrying tourists had been hit by a boat on a canal in the Danube Delta.

Representatives of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate of the city of Tulcea reported that two crews are leaving for the relevant area to search for the missing person.
