Ukraine and Germany have signed a declaration of intent to build a wind power plant around the Chornobyl NPP, reports the Ukrinform agency with reference to the German TV channel ARD. Ukrainian Pravda.
During her visit to Ukraine on September 11, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Burbok, visited an electrical substation 50 kilometers from Kyiv.
Russian missiles and Iranian-made kamikaze drones hit the 2,000-megawatt power plant several times.
Parts of the installations were badly damaged and later repaired. Now the substation is fenced with nets to intercept low-flying drones.
During the visit, Burbok touched on the topic of the development of renewable energy in Ukraine. In particular, she considers it expedient to build a wind power plant around the Chornobyl NPP.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, a declaration of intent was signed.
The German Foreign Ministry noted that last winter more than 1,500 attacks were committed on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, so the focus of the German Foreign Minister’s visit to Kyiv is measures to ensure and protect the population with electricity, especially in winter.
