The fact that school inspectorates will be abolished is not a surprise, this measure was announced back in 2022 by the then Minister of Education Sorin Campeanu. The latest news related to them, according to the proposal of an emergency order, foresees that the inspectorates will be replaced by county directorates, which in turn should be “regionalized”. The measure is part of a larger set of government austerity measures, in which it plans to cut spending, cut jobs and decentralize some institutions.
