The head of the Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said on Saturday that he will attack Russia mainly on the country’s military-industrial enterprises, reports Agerpres.
These attacks are aimed “primarily at companies of the Russian military-industrial complex,” he said in a rare public appearance at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) international conference in Kyiv.
Budanov said, among other things, that a Russian factory for the production of electronic chips for Iskander missiles, which Moscow often uses to bombard Ukraine, was attacked “recently”.
In recent months, drone attacks and sabotage have increased in Russia, affecting Moscow and various Russian regions, sometimes deep inside the country, and Kyiv is increasingly claiming responsibility for them.
Budanov on the consequences of Ukrainian attacks in Russia: “It’s only a matter of time”
“The explosions in the aggressor country wake up the society a little, but they have not yet had a mass effect, unfortunately for us,” he said, predicting that later these attacks would create “considerable problems” for the Russians.
“It’s only a matter of time,” Budanov emphasized.
“This is important, and this is the difference between us and the Russians: no civilian was harmed, no matter what they (the Russians) say,” he added.
Budanov assured that the Ukrainian counteroffensive, which has been slowly advancing since the beginning of June, will continue after the end of the summer, which is more suitable for moving troops.
“The offensive operation will continue in all directions,” Budanov said. “We’re not in Africa and we don’t really have a rainy season,” he added.
