The action starts at 5:00 p.m., gathering near the Titan metro station in the park, a march through the park will be organized from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. At 00:00 a picnic will be held on the territory burned in the fires.

“After the 8th devastating fire that affected a third of the restored area of ​​the IOR Park in the last 4 weeks, the residents of Sector 3 of Bucharest are organizing a civil protest to draw attention to the dangers faced by passers-by. animals and the environment, as well as demand specific actions from the authorities. Residents passionately want the restored park area to remain a protected and accessible green space,” reads a press release sent by neighborhood residents.

Citizens ask the authorities:

  • Establishing a police station: Residents are asking the local authorities and the General City Hall of Bucharest Municipality to establish a police station in the area to prevent future fires and ensure the safety of passers-by, animals and vegetation in the park.
  • Criminal investigation: Protesters demand a criminal investigation to identify and punish those responsible for previous fires that threatened the environment and the lives of residents.
  • Transformation of the area into public property: Protesters demand the return of 12 hectares returned to public property to become a green area for all residents and to protect the remaining nature.
