All this has brought to Hungary a phenomenon that until now was only characteristic of Western Europe: graduates of higher education who are in a better position in life can now register at the employment office for support in finding a job or a job, knowing that they will be able to easily find work in three months.
If we look at the data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), it is clear that, although salaries in many professions still do not catch up with salaries in the West, there are more and more areas where companies can already offer particularly good competitive income.
Since the beginning of this year, the average gross salary in the information and communication and financial sector has exceeded 900,000 forints (11,494 lei), and the average salary has exceeded 1 million forints (12,771 lei) for two consecutive months thanks to bonuses. Of course, these are all averages, so salaries can fluctuate up and down.
The president of the Federation of Trade Unions League, Melinda Mesaros, told the Hungarian newspaper “Világgdaság” that this special relaxation or special holiday, as she called it, also appeared in Hungary.
In Western Europe, this process has been present for some time, especially among those who teach in higher education institutions or who conduct research, primarily in connection with the change of work.
At the same time, it implies a higher level of income and a special level of knowledge, when you can find a place in the labor market with great confidence. In 99 percent of cases, these people already have the possibility of the next job, that is, they have an obligation to another employer, explained Melinda Mesaros, who added: “They go through this intermediate period with a special relaxation while they register for work. offices, so they never run out of insurance.
According to the president of the trade union, this phenomenon is not necessarily characteristic of Budapest, it is more related to professional groups and professional qualifications than it is a regional phenomenon. Regionality plays an important role in the sense that the income level in the capital and in the Central Transdanubia region is much higher than in other regions of the country, for example in Southern Transdanubia, where there are no large employers, and because of this wages are also much lower, so here this phenomenon can be detected less.
Melinda Mesaros also drew attention to the fact that the number of registered job seekers with secondary and higher education is increasing, and the number of unskilled workers is decreasing, which indicates that today it is much easier to find a job in the field.
Melinda Mesaros also pointed out that someone has a professional qualification for nothing if they have not worked in the field or have no experience and only received a document. All this is not enough for employment.
