Defense Minister Ángel Tilvar said that on Tuesday, around 18:00, there were the first signs that remains were found in Tulcea County, which could be related to unmanned equipment, and clarified that they are being analyzed by specialists. Tilvar predicted that the information given to President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday, such as that “not a single drone” has fallen in our country, was correct. But, according to the minister, MApN groups found pieces a few meters from the Danube.

Defense Minister Ángel Tilvar said Wednesday afternoon that the drone-like fragments found in Tulcea County will be analyzed to determine their origin with certainty.

“At the moment, I have no reason to believe that this is an act of aggression. I think that Romania and the Alliance are not in a situation where NATO space or Romania’s space will be attacked, and we are trying to find all the elements that will allow us to make the best decisions,” Tilvar told Digi 24.

Tilvar also said he wanted to increase vigilance on Romania’s border, saying that according to the information he initially had, no parts or military equipment had fallen on Romanian territory.

“And now, a few meters from the Danube, the brigades that continued the search even after our communication. because it was normal for technical elements to be complemented by elements on the ground, because there are also limitations from a technical point of view, here they also found these fragments that could be from a drone,” said Tilvar.

Angel Tilvar said on Wednesday on Antena 3 that the remains of the drone were found on Tuesday around 6 pm.

“Yesterday evening around 6 o’clock we had indications that our teams found debris that could be related to unmanned equipment. What is usually done in such cases is done. The teams have taken these samples which they are analyzing using the equipment we have at our disposal within the equipment for this at MApN. This also happened when part of a Bayraktar drone was found in the Black Sea,” Tilvar was quoted as saying by news.ro.

When asked who gave false information to President Klaus Iohannis when the head of state said on Tuesday that no drone or its component had fallen in Romania, Ángel Tilvar replied: “I gave him this information because at the time I made the first post on this matter, all the data I have provided to my MApN colleagues has led to this conclusion. Vigilance measures have been in place in this area for a long time.”

He was also asked if there was an attempt to hide this information, given that since Monday, Ukrainian officials have been announcing the downing of a drone in Romania.

“The information I had was correct. Regarding the fact that others came forward with a different type of communication, I want to remind you that even when the issue was raised that Russian missiles entered the national space of Romania from the side of Moldova, and then others said that the space was violated, and we came out and said, that it was not disturbed and we were right. And when the incident happened in Poland, various points of view were expressed in many places in Europe, and we reported it correctly,” explained Tilvar.

The minister was also asked whether he had called Klaus Iohannis in connection with this incident.

“We informed him about the measures we intend to take,” added the Minister of Defense.

Angel Tilvar was also asked if it was the older drone who was responsible for the incorrect verification.

“We can talk about several types of drones. There are drones for finding information, there are several types of drones. We want to see what type of drone it is, what its origin is, what its ability to produce… We must be able to distinguish an incident, an unfortunate accident or something that can be attributed to someone from an act of aggression,” he added. sent to the Minister of Defense.
