Ruby Franke and her business partner, Jody Nan Hildebrandt, were arrested Wednesday in Ivins, Utah.

Officials also discovered that Ruby Franke’s 10-year-old daughter was malnourished at her business partner’s home.

Franke and Jodi Nan Hildebrandt face two counts of child abuse.

Police say Franke’s 12-year-old son climbed out the window and ran to a neighbor to ask for food and water.

“The caller reported that the juvenile appeared emaciated and malnourished with open wounds and duct tape around his limbs,” the Santa Clara Department of Public Safety in Ivins said in a statement.

“Upon arrival, the law enforcement officers ascertained bodily injuries and malnutrition [băiatului] they were difficult,” the message reads.

The boy was taken to the hospital “due to deep injuries from being tied up with a rope and malnutrition.” Franke’s 10-year-old daughter was also admitted to the hospital.

Officials later obtained a search warrant in connection with the incident, and a total of four children were placed in the care of social services, according to the release.

Franke, 41, rose to fame on YouTube in the 2010s with her channel called 8 Passengers, which chronicled her parenting of her six children. Franke appeared in Hildebrandt’s YouTube videos, which were posted on her consulting website ConneXions Classroom.

The YouTube channel had more than 2 million subscribers before it was deactivated earlier this year.

She has been criticized in the past for her strict parenting practices described on her YouTube channel, including her son claiming he slept in a beanbag for months as punishment, and Franke believing that skipping meals would be a disciplinary measure for the children.
