On Friday, President Klaus Iohannis went with his wife to the Danube Delta, where they took a boat ride, and Iohannis ended by talking about the beauty of the area and also listed the problems. When asked by a reporter how exactly he contributes to finding solutions to the problems Delta faces, Yohannis replied: “My contribution is that I came here and drew attention to these problems.”

Klaus Iohannis and his wife Carmen took a boat ride and visited the Somova-Parcesh lake complex.

  • “Today is September 1, the day of the Danube Delta, and we decided together with the first lady and the entire delegation to come here today to visit you.
  • I have visited very beautiful places, I have been to Lake Samova-Parcesh, it is a very special area and specialists believe that it is a unique area in the delta. We think she is very beautiful. I had a practical, good conversation with those who accompanied me,” the president said at the end of the visit.

He said that in addition to these very nice things, “we also have to see problems”, listing overfishing, tourism that could be better organized for those who come, pollution and the serious impact of climate change.

When asked by the journalist to provide specific examples of solutions and to the question of how he contributed to the search for solutions to the problems facing the Danube Delta, Iohannis answered:

  • “My contribution is that I came here and drew attention to these issues, which I discussed with the central and local governments, and very specific solutions will be presented to them by the ministry, the county, the mayor’s office, the delta administration, when they are implemented “.
