A 22-year-old young man is under judicial control, who, in a state of alcohol and drug intoxication and without a driver’s license, allegedly stole an acquaintance’s car and drove it into the fence of a building in the village of Daskelu, Ilfov district, Agerpres reports.

According to the IPJ Ilfov press release sent on Tuesday, the Ilfov County Police Inspectorate was alerted on Monday, around 00:38, that a car collided with the fence of a building in Dascălu, Otopeni.

The police from Otopeni went to the scene and established that the report was confirmed and that the driver disappeared from the scene after the accident, the quoted source said.

• “During the procedural actions, shortly afterwards, the police identified and identified a 22-year-old man on the street in the commune of Dascălu, suspected of driving the mentioned car. After checks, the police established that it was not him, he did not have a driver’s license without a category, as well as the fact that the young man allegedly stole a car for illegal use from his friend. The Ilfoven traffic police continued to check the young man with an alcohol test device, which showed a value of 0.66 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air, as well as during drug test testing, which proved positive for the consumption of psychoactive substances,” says IPJ Ilfov.

After the provided evidence, the Inspectorate reports that on Monday the police detained the young man in question for 24 hours, and on Tuesday he was presented to the prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office at the Bufta court, who ordered a measure of judicial control for 60 days.

The police are continuing the criminal investigation into the crimes of theft for the purpose of use, driving a vehicle on public roads without a driver’s license, driving a vehicle on public roads under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances, and destruction, the press release states.
